In another life I was meant to live north of the desert. Places where the smell of the world around you moves through your nostrils and falls deep inside your soul. Where the scene of green and mountains is overwhelming and suffocating. Where small towns are around every corner and where people still smile and say hello. Where the pace is a little bit slower and the days are longer.
Yes, in another life I’m sure I was meant for rustic mountain places. So for now, I will hold tight to times that we steal ourselves away and leave the everyday behind us in the desert. And I will think fondly of this past summer and our escape to that little cabin in the woods of Idaho.
