A while back I happened across an Instagram influencer in the home decor and interior design realm who spoke of family photographs. She shared that she was given the advice to not include traditional family photos on her walls or styled images for higher engagement and sharability. Now, I understand something being your job and there will always be “best practices” to follow. However, she also shared how much she had missed seeing family photographs in their home. And my heart kind of broke. My belief is that family photographs should be infused into the design of our homes. There is beautiful intimacy in surrounding yourself with your story. It is truly such an intentional detail added. And it is a wonderful blessing for our children as well. I wanted to share my absolute favorite gallery wall inspiration for your family photographs.

With our impending move this June, I have my own gallery wall project on the back burner for now. I can’t wait to share it with you soon along with my tips on how to make it happen! In the meantime, I wanted to share some beautiful designs and visuals, as well as my favorite style, finds for you to get started on your own.

This first one is by Amy Peters. I absolutely love the big impact she creates while also flowing cohesively with their home style.

I am a sucker for large mats with smaller openings to create blank space. This one is by Jenna Sue Design and she did this beautifully in her home. I also love the square shape for a clean, modern approach. 

Bless’er House did an incredible job creating a gallery wall in their home. It doesn’t make the space feel smaller in the slightest and it flows beautifully along the staircase. She also has some wonderful advice and tips on how to layout a gallery wall in your home.

I love Aylin’s approach to her wall. The warm tone of the frame goes beautifully with her interior style. And she did a wonderful job at coordinating color photographs that are similar in tone to ensure they all worked together instead of competing. So well done and she also has some wonderful tips as well.

My favorite style finds for a gallery wall

I have been keeping my eye out on finds for my own and wanted to share my favorite looks that I have come across. You can easily approach a gallery wall on a budget my shopping thrift stores for frames and simply re-finishing them. This was my exact approach for the gallery wall I style in our hold home back in Arizona. However, if DIY isn’t your thing I wanted to share these with you.
