Getting ready to dive into another DIY project, and I have been scouring Pinterest for painted furniture ideas and inspiration. Why? Because I think I am going to go with a color for this next project. There are two things I learned from spending time gathering visuals and ideas:
There is a lot of extreme DIY-painted furniture out there. I’m sure it is no surprise that I love my neutrals. I love a classic and clean feel while also achieving a comfortable, inviting, and cozy atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong – so many of these projects are so creative and well done. People are talented! However, I found a lot of bold colors, two-tone pieces, added stenciling, and even marble effects. Those are not the look and feel I want to achieve, but I did end up finding some gorgeous inspiration!
I also learned is that I really know what I like – ha! You will find this extremely apparent as you scroll through the inspiration I gathered – wink! When it comes to upcycling an older piece and giving it a fresh face while also lending a hand in the cozy neutrals department, I found that three colors seem to really work. Especially when tying in wood tones, natural finishes, etc. And that is shades of black, white, and green. From all of the visuals I perused, these were the most versatile.
If you are like me and love your neutrals even in the furniture pieces you upcycle, I think you will love the inspiration so keep scrolling!

I hope these painted furniture ideas and inspiration got your wheels turning like they did mine.
Do you prefer wood finishes and tones or do you like mixing in some painted pieces here and there to mix things up?
And stay tuned! We are picking up this next project piece today and I cannot wait to get my hands dirty! While the final project will be shared here and over on YouTube, I of course will be sharing more of the process and real-time action on Instagram. Come hang out with me over there!
