My dearest Blair,
Somewhere along the line between five years old and today, you stopped being a little kid and you have grown into a young lady. Your spunk, your vivaciousness, your humor, your confidence… you are a big personality packed in a small package and it is amazing to witness. You are constantly filling our home and lives with the brightest and bold light and I don’t know how we ever got so lucky.
I have watched you over the past year and your ease at making friends. Your confidence in trying new things. Your sensitivity towards other people’s feelings. It is all well beyond your years and I am so proud to have a daughter like you.
Remember as you get older, give people grace. Not everyone will be as confident as you are. Not everyone will approach situations as boldly as you do. Not everyone is a leader as it so easily comes to you. Remember to love them despite your differences. Remember to be a friend, be a neighbor, be a sister. Your energy is unique and draws attention from so many. Use it for good. Use it to build others up. Remember you can either add or detract from a room simply by being in it. Always add good to situations.
Thank you for everything that you are. Never dim your light for anyone, because Blair… your light is a beautiful one and I can’t wait to see you grow into it even more.
With all of me and more….
Mom
