One of the goals I wrote down at the beginning of the year was to put more time and effort into practicing better self care. And while I am still working hard to be more consistent in the physical department (seriously – can I have like, 10 more hours in each day?), I have really buckled down and started adulting better in other areas. For instance, my skin. Because word on the street is I am not getting any younger! So today I am sharing with you my latest finds and obsessions for July which includes three products I have been putting to the test and truly loving.
Remember! These monthly shares of latest finds are not sponsored in any way. These are products that I purchase myself and try out and if I end up liking them I want to make sure and share with you all. Because sharing is caring, right? And we’re best friends.
I have been using the following products for over four weeks and I feel confident enough in them to share them with all of you in case you are also looking for something new or wanting to change up your current skincare routine.
I first heard about the Tula skincare products through Miss Leanne Barlow of Elle Apparel. She raves about their moisturizer and I thought I would also try their face cleanser as well.
The Tula Purifying Cleanser is a gel style face cleanser that is soft and gentle, but yet really feels like it does the job of cleansing and purifying. I like that my face doesn’t feel overworked after using it, but just refreshed. And I love the fact that the Tula line is probiotic based.
I simply use a quarter size of cleanser after removing my makeup with my Neutrogena Wipes and rub in small circular motions over my entire face. I then rinse and pat my skin dry with a towel.
I then follow up with the Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream on my face and neck. You have to understand that before these three products the only skin care I was practicing was using my St.Ives scrub in the shower. And while I love the exfoliation I got from that, my skin often felt dry and blah.
I love that the Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream is thick enough to really feel it working, but doesn’t leave my skin greasy. It has so much more weight to it and really does the job. I have truly noticed a change in my skin and can see much more hydration and radiance.
This next product I am sharing is so far outside of my usual box. I definitely had to have an open mind to even buy this one, but I have heard so many women raving about it and there is something to be said about natural and traditional forms of self care – especially with the state of manufacturing and how harsh and dangerous ingredients in our daily products have become.
So, the idea of facial rolling dates way back. And the idea is that it helps to promote lymphatic drainage, helps with increasing your skin’s elasticity, reduces puffiness and wrinkles as well as dark under eye circles.
I chose a rose quartz roller because rose quarts is one of the most beautifying healing stones. It is said that it helps ease tension, stress, anxiety and increases self love. All good things, right?
So after I have applied my moisturizer, I then use my roller which also helps the moisturizer to really penetrate my skin. The goal is to roll in the proper directions. I found this diagram for those who might be interested to know:
I think my favorite part of the roller is the coolness of it. Rose quartz maintains a natural cool temperature anyway, but I have been putting my roller in the freezer and it is the most amazing and relaxing feeling. Especially with the desert heat this time of year. And it absolutely helps reduce the puffiness I experience in the mornings which is a big deal in my world!
While I still deal with occasional blemishes from hormones and stress (working through more daily routines to better handle that darn issue), I have to say that I really have seen improvement in my skin after using these products morning and night for over a month.
And I love that my routine has become something I look forward to which I was not expecting. Especially being the girl who didn’t even take her makeup off before bed every day (judge me, I know. It’s terrible). I really don’t feel relaxed enough for bed until I have gone through these three steps and it helps to wake me up even more in the mornings.
If you have any questions about these products, post them below and I will make sure and share my experience with them as best I can in case you are also looking for a change in your skin care regimen. And keep in touch if you end up trying some of the above products out. I would love to know if you loved them as well!
Have a wonderful weekend!
