The kind that allows one to shake off the outside world. I believe in traditions, that the little things are always the big things, and I believe in the way things used to be done.

I believe in the thirst that is quenched through the work of the homemaker and I believe our greatest success comes from the work done within the walls of our homes. I believe in getting our hands dirty in cultivating a life that truly inspires us instead of settling for the default. I believe in cultivating a legacy we are proud of, one whose flame will burn bright for future generations to find their way home long after we are gone.

It's about what matters most.

It's about living simple and

making it beautiful.

I was the little girl dressing up in my grandmother's  skirts, pretending to "tend the land" in the backyard. This, I'm sure, was influenced by my infatuation with the musical, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. The idea of living in the mountains, off the land, and finding a rugged bearded gentleman to do it all with sparked something in me apparently.

As I got older, I could be found organizing the fridge and pantry on the weekends and the gifts under the tree at Christmas time all for aesthetics and the joy it brought to see simple things done beautifully.

Where it probably started

The passion for living simple and making things beautiful has always been a part of me.

For 15 years now I have found myself blessed with the opportunity to pivot in my career alongside the growth of our family. And while I have worn a few different hats over the years, from commercial photographer and brand strategist to creative director, my heart has always been tethered to home and telling the story of it.

HOW IT'S GOING

AN OLD-FASHIONED REVIVAL

Listening to my gut, we took our children out of public school and began our journey in home educating. And it was as if everything that I never knew I always wanted in my life was suddenly right in front of me. We found ourselves stripping away the excess, prioritizing home-cooked meals over cluttered schedules. We found ourselves simplifying and being more intentional in where our time went.  And we felt our eyes open to modern-day comforts and conveniences that are detrimental to our health and well-being.

And four years ago we felt that
             stronger than we
ever had before.

FROM WHERE WE SOURCED OUR FOOD TO WHAT WAS IN OUR MEDICINE CABINET - IT WAS A REVIVAL OF THE OLD-FASHIONED. THE WAY THINGS USED TO BE DONE.

Because the vision for our life that had been placed on our hearts was greater than any temporary discomfort felt from a leap into the unknown and the life we are working to build in Tennessee.

And while it has been a season of trials and unknowns, it has also been a season of immense growth and transformation. And as we continue searching for the dirt meant to be below our feet and the homestead we will soon cultivate -
