Last-Minute Gift Ideas & How to Do It Right

We have all been there. The dreaded last-minute gift shopping for a loved one. Life is busy and sometimes even with the best intentions and thoughtful ideas, time gets away from us. My husband always says, “if it wasn’t for the last minute, nothing would ever get done” and goodness gracious, how true that is in some seasons of life! Or all the seasons – ha! With Mother’s Day in just a few days, I wanted to share with you my foolproof approach in this situation, last-minute gift ideas, and how to do it right so we can all nail it this year! Wink!

Let’s go shopping!

Last minute gift ideas and how to do it right! I am sharing my foolproof approach for gifting simply, but intentionally even when down to the wire. And perfect timing with Mother's Day just a few days away! Head to KaraLayne.com to check it out.

First things first…

The first thing you want to do using this approach to gift-giving is to pick a theme. Or you can base it simply on things the person enjoys that you are gifting.

Next…

I love gifting in a basket or bag – something that the person will be able to use and love. So find a basket or bag that will hold everything you have mapped out and are going to fill it with.

Finally…

Fill it with multiple goodies and gifts that will surprise and delight!

This first gift idea is perfect for the typical homebody and the mom who loves a relaxing evening at home. I first grabbed a great basket that can easily be used for home decor after. Next, I paired a throw pillow and blanket together along with a pair of fuzzy slippers. Then I picked out a good snack and lastly I would add a $20 Apple iTunes gift card for a flick of her choice. It’s an instant and cozy movie night at home to treat her! (This particular gift came out to be about $105)

Maybe Mom has a summer vacation coming up! For this one, I grabbed this great woven tote bag from the Hearth & Hand section. Then I added an oversized beach towel, a sun visor, this fantastic beaded crossbody to hold her phone, some cute sandals, and a pair of sunnies. It’s everything she will need while at the beach! (Everything together came out to be $125)

Need to spend less? Grab a smaller basket, a cute mug, her favorite coffee, and add some chocolates. Or perhaps she loves gardening! This gardening caddy would make the perfect Mother’s Day gift. Simply add a new pair of gardening gloves, maybe some plant markers, and a few seed packets of her favorite flowers!

You can use this approach for any occasion, male or female, adult or child, and for any budget. Do we need to do a Father’s Day round-up for next month?! Let me know below!

And there you have it! Last-minute gift ideas and how to do it right. Even though it may be last minute, you can still make it simple and intentional.

I hope you find this helpful and an early Happy Mother’s Day from my home to yours!
