It’s that time of year. The time of year as a desert dweller that I would give anything to live elsewhere. I dream of New England. Of cobblestone streets I have never seen, that are littered with the golden hues of fallen leaves. I long for the crisp fall air of the NorthWest. The kind that leaves your nose and cheeks tickled pink. I long for back-to-school days that are greeted by laced up boots and scarves. The sound of crunching leaves beneath your feet. I long for the days spent in over sized sweaters, cuddled under a blanket on the couch, when our home is filled with the smell of Pumpkin spice and fall festivities and parties are being planned.
For now I will wait, quite impatiently, as the desert takes her time catching on. And I will yearn for road trips that would take me to where Autumn is because its where my heart belongs.
