Our future outdoor space is something that I can’t wait to curate. Perhaps it’s being the daughter of a pool designer and builder who created gorgeous backyard oases back in the day. Or it could be that we have been tiny living for one and a half years longer than we were planning on (#whentheworldlostitsmind). Whatever the reason, I love that we live somewhere that can be enjoyed outdoors for a large part of the year. And I can’t wait to tackle an outdoor space for our family to make memories in and to invite loved ones to enjoy it as well. I gathered up some inspiration for us and that are simple and beautiful approaches to outdoor spaces.
During the spring, summer, and fall months I find a craving to live life just as much outside as we do inside. Maybe even more so outside to soak in the sunshine and cool nights. I think it can sometimes feel overwhelming or even unattainable when viewing the designs and ideas out there. Instead, I think there are beautiful and stunning things we can create and change to cultivate a home that inspires us.
This first look is a great example of simplicity. I especially love the wood stumps used for seating. So unique yet so budget-friendly! The texture brings a lot in along with the brick patio. A DIY table, some vines, and string lights make it an entire vibe to enjoy now that the weather is stunning again.

I love this next one. Especially because it ties together two different spaces while allowing for more room to enjoy and entertain. And the mix and matching of furniture and finishes is so well done.

Seeing this transformation will give you all the confidence you need of what can be done with a minimal amount. This is such a beautiful approach to an outdoor fire pit and seating area. A simple brick border, a bit of gravel and matching chairs – perfect for cool spring nights and into summer fun.

This is a bit of beautiful inspiration for those who are working with smaller spaces. This patio space is stunning and all it includes is a concrete bench, a table, and a few chairs. It is a great use of space and the added greenery and hanging lanterns add so much ambiance!

Another great before and after project and transformation of this backyard. I really love when different spaces to serve different things can be pulled together with patio space and string lights. So while one space is meant to enjoy the outdoor fire put and the other is more for lounging and eating al fresco, both spaces come together so well with intentional details.

Here is a wonderful approach to incorporating more seating room while keeping things simple! The use of beams here not only ties in well with the outside ambiance but get the job done in a budget-friendly way.
