You’ll want to start out by slicing one whole yellow onion. You’ll then layer the bottom of your slow cooker with several slices.
Place your pork loin on top of the first layer of onions then lay your remaining slices on top of it.
Pour in enough chicken stock to cover your pork halfway.
Place your lid on and set your slow cooker to low heat for 7 hours.
You’ll then want to open your slow cooker and pull your pork loin apart a bit so the juices can get soaked up even more. Then close it again and cook on low for 1 more hour.
Remove all of your pork loin (discard the onion and remaining juice) and shred after cooking for 8 hours. Once you have done that, place it back in your slow cooker to add your BBQ sauce. The only one we use is Sweet Baby Ray’s and the amount you use is completely what you prefer. Some people like a lot of sauce in their pulled pork, but just be sure and stir while you add so you don’t get too much or not enough.
The secret ingredient and what gives it that perfect smokey taste is Liquid Smoke that you can pick up at your local grocery store. Make sure to not use more than 3 drops of this stuff. It is incredibly strong and a little goes a long way.
Keep it all in your slow cooker on low heat so the BBQ sauce can have a chance to get hot. While that is happening, prepare your hamburger buns if you prefer them toasted and add any sides that suit your fancy.
Easy, right? And delicious. Here is your list of ingredients to add to your shopping list:
