Another Wellness Wednesday and another great recipe to add to your wellness arsenal! While fall may be creeping in for some of us, and while my intentions were to share this one in time for summer, I hope this recipe is still extremely helpful for those that are still enjoying the summer sun for a few more weeks! This homemade after-sun spray recipe is one of our absolute favorites.
Whether it is after some time spent in the pool, a weekend hike, or on vacation at the beach, this spray is the perfect thing to apply to your skin after being in the sun.
You will simply want to add 1.5 tbs of aloe vera gel to your bottle, followed by drops of each of the three oils. The number of drops will depend on your personal preference as well as bottle size. For this size bottle, I am adding 10-15 drops of each.
Once you have added your essential oils, you will then want to add in about 1.5 tsp of witch hazel. This helps the oils to combine with water.
To finish up, simply fill your bottle with water and give it a good shake.
To use, simply apply to the skin after spending time in the sun for a soothing and cooling effect. We love keeping a bottle in the fridge during the summer months to amp up the cooling effect – it feels amazing!
