How I Make My Artificial Christmas Tree Smell Real

Don’t get me wrong. I love my faux tree, but I also love that scent that only fresh tress and garland can bring. But it doesn’t mean that we can’t re-create it for ourselves! I wanted to share with you how I make my artificial Christmas tree smell real.

You can easily find room sprays this time of year to help you get the job done, but because we don’t use synthetic scents in our home, I make my own using essential oils. Super easy to do.

What you will need:

How to make my Black Spruce & Spice Christmas Tree Spray

What you will want to do is add everything into your spray bottle. I start with the oils. Because my bottle is 3.4 oz in size, I have found that 40 drops of Northern Lights Black Spruce and 20 drops of Christmas Spirit is a great amount. Christmas Spirit adds that festive spice to the scent, but I still love to smell more of the tree scent.

Once you have added your desired amount of oil, then add a splash of your witch hazel. This is going to help combine your oil and water. Once you have that added to your bottle, simply fill it to the top with distilled water.

For safety reasons, I do not spray directly on my tree. I’m sure that would be a Christmas Vacation/Clark Griswold situation waiting to happen. I simply spray it on pinecones that I then hang on the tree along with the rest of the ornaments. You could also spray on your soft ornaments for the same effect.

And I absolutely use this spray for our entire home and also pump it in the diffuser in our living room to make it feel just right.

This also makes for a fantastic holiday gift for neighbors or teachers, even family. I love pairing it with a favorite ornament and fresh baked goods to drop off to friends and family.

I’m also using this exact gift idea (minus the fresh baked goods) to new customers who shop Young Living with me this month! I came across these beautiful handcrafted ornaments at one of my favorite boutiques here in Nashville. And I also added these diffuser recipe cards and a bottle of Christmas Spirit because, honestly, you can never have enough of that scent. Looking forward to loving on my oily community this month and sending a whole bunch of holiday cheer from Nashville this season.
