It was a Saturday with nothing on the schedule and we had just finished out first full week of school. I was itching to get out and do some shopping for pieces for our family room re-do and hunting at the Sweet Salvage Vintage Market in Phoenix seemed like just the right spot. Jarett and Brooks decided to tag along which meant some quiet time for just Mom and Dad. Yes, with five kids in the house quality time is absolutely a thing for us even with a baby in tow. I threw on some jeans, my favorite hat and whipped my hair into a braid because nobody has time for perfectly coifed hair in this heat and humidity. Especially when there is treasure hunting to do!
(Do you follow me on the LIKEtoKNOW.it app? I love using it to be able to find favorite pieces that I see friends and my favorite bloggers post. Download it and you can find me right here in case you ever see something you like!)
Sweet Salvage is about a 40 minute drive from where we live so it was so nice to be able to chat the whole way while Brooks napped. It truly has been so much more humid this summer in Phoenix and all of us Arizonans are just not used to it. By the time we parked and walked all the way down the street to the market we were dripping in sweat, but then? I mean, walking into this how can anyone be miserable, right?!
This market is a once-a-month, four day event. If you haven’t visited yet and are local make sure you catch it in September! And even if you are just here visiting in the valley, it truly is a great event to catch.
Good thing Jarett was with me to help hold me back from all of the beautiful things I was finding and loving.
Sweet Salvage truly does a wonderful job at filling their market to the brim with all the things. Everywhere you look there is something to find and fall in love with.
I snapped a picture of this light we came across. When we purchase our future home, I envision the kitchen to be warm and inviting with an overall modern cottage feel, but done in crisp and clean whites. How great would a more rustic light like this be in a set of three hanging over a kitchen island? The contrast would be so fantastic and also give you a conversational piece!
One trend I am loving in textiles is the black and white prints. Not modern at all, more of an aged feel, but this style totally fits within the color palette I want while also being stylish, but not too trendy. I came across pillows and throws that I absolutely love.
Phoenix Phreeze was there with their fabulous shaved ice which was so needed with the weather!
This babe was such a trooper. He was even sweating too! Never heard a word out of him and of course, all of the ladies had to stop and say hi which makes my mama heart beam every time. He really is beautiful, but obviously I’m bias. And thank goodness for WildBird and their fabulous baby slings. It’s one of my top favorite baby products and does it’s job so well. We love them!
I founds a few things that ended up coming home with us (I’ll share soon!), but by the time we trekked back to the car all we were excited for was a good bite to eat and a cold drink. I would like to say that we took advantage to sit down and have a nice lunch, but real life? There were four other cubs at home who were hoping for some food as well. So we drove by our favorite fast food joint (can I get an amen for Chic-fil-A?!), played our favorite tunes and chatted the whole way home about kids, life and big dreams.
Do you enjoy treasure hunting for pieces for your home? Or do you prefer the modern day convenience of finding exactly what you want at the stores you know? I think I am right down the middle. And honestly, if you are local or visiting the Phoenix area, you won’t regret stopping in for the next Sweet Salvage event!
