It’s so easy for me to treat weekends as a time to get things done around the house. We work hard throughout the week so when I know Saturday is coming up I get into the mind zone of cleaning, laundry, errands… all the things that I can’t always get to throughout the week. However, this past Saturday we decided to leave behind the sink of full of dishes, the piles of laundry and the many to-do’s to get out of the house all together. We headed out to Scottsdale to do some shopping and it really was the perfect reminder that family outings and weekends well spent really don’t compare to much else. And doing things that make you forget about your phone? Yes please.
We had back-to-school shopping to get done so we decided to head out to Scottsdale Fashion Square for a little retail therapy.
And of course, what’s a trip to the mall without stopping for some soft pretzels, right? They are a crowd favorite for sure. Even down to the smallest cub.
Once we had wrapped up at our favorite stores, we decided to stop in at Sprinkles to treat ourselves to some cupcakes. Have you been? My absolute favorite is the dark chocolate! We even picked up a mini for Brooks because they are just too good to share – wink!
After that we grabbed our favorite drinks at Sonic and headed to the Arcadia neighborhood to cruise the neighborhood streets and drool over all of the gorgeous homes. The kids had a blast choosing their favorite ones while Jarett and I continued to dream big just as we always do and I hope that never ends.
A weekend well spent indeed. What is your idea of the perfect weekend?
