We’ve recently gotten a taste of freedom that we have missed for so long and with the Memorial Day holiday, we decided to escape the Phoenix desert with a getaway to the mountains of Flagstaff, Arizona. Short, sweet, and absolutely perfect. I don’t think anything could have possibly wiped the smiles off of our faces for those 48 hours. It’s funny how something so simple can completely change your life.
From the 2 hour drive and belting our favorite tunes, to introducing the kids to our tradition of Bun Huggers (an absolute must if you ever get the chance), bumming around downtown Flagstaff, a visit to Sweet Shoppe for some favorite treats, and eating far too much all along the way. We could have done nothing at all and each of us still would have been in heaven. Here’s to many more summer road trips, freedom to explore, and making new memories.
*An added note: I photographed the entire 48 hour trip using my iPhone 8 Plus. If you are looking to up your skills with your smartphone camera, be sure and check out my online course Documenting the Everyday: iPhone Edition. I would love for you to be a part of it and to join the community we have growing!
