Documenting the Entrepreneurial Journey #Entrepreneur #DreamBig

The steam from the iron hissed quietly. He finished ironing his slacks and then I smelled the waft of his cologne as he walked back and forth in the bedroom getting ready. It was a big day for him and I quietly watched while gleaming with pride. As he stood in front of the mirror buttoning his shirt and rolling his sleeves. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and he smiled. “Seriously, it is not that big of a deal”, he replied already knowing my next move.

I opened my camera app and snapped a photo of him. Nothing posed, nothing perfect – just the moment for what it was. Simple and real.

He is as humble as they come, but it was a big deal. It was the official start to another new client, a new account and his first two employees to go along with it. A guy who walked away from his corporate 9 to 5 almost four years ago to pursue his own dreams in building a business. A terrifying and thrilling leap that he has completely transformed from. A move that has brought our family so much freedom and happiness as we both enjoy life being our own bosses. And moments like that need to be documented. To tell the story to his grandkids someday. About humble beginnings and old-fashioned hard work. About building something out of nothing. About believing in yourself and what you are capable of.

Documenting the Entrepreneurial Journey #Entrepreneur #DreamBig

Here’s to all of us entrepreneurs, big and small, built up or still building. May we remember just how amazing even the smallest of moments are while on the journey to building our dreams. May we never shy away from rooting ourselves on, documenting the journey and ignoring outside opinions and naysayers – those who may be too scared to do it themselves.

Because it all matters. Even the tiniest and most humble of steps forward. After all, with each step brings us closer to the dreams and goals that we constantly are living and breathing. And that my friends, is the greatest feeling of all and will make for one epic story.
